We had our Christmas with Greg’s dad and stepmom this past weekend because they’re actually going to be vacationing in Mexico on Christmas day. And even though there was only a tiny, tiny, tiny bit of snow on the ground, it really felt like Christmas.
Zoey had her first stocking (she had one last year, but she was only 6 months and didn’t understand what was going on):
And then there were the presents. At first, she didn’t seem entirely sure what to do:
After the presents were opened (Grandpa Emmett and Grammy Karen totally spoiled Zoey and she loved it), Zoey decided to look out the window for a while (and slobber on it). We think the cool feeling made her aching gums feel a little better:
And then, as Grandpa and Grammy finished making dinner, Zoey discovered OMG! Grandpa and Grammy have stairs! And they must be climbed immediately! Over and over again!
We finally tore Zoey away from the stairs in order the eat dinner. She ate TONS of chicken and mashed potatoes, but was kind of on the fence about the asparagus.
Then Zoey played with her new toys for a while:
When she got tired, she climbed up on the couch with her binky and laid down next to Grammy Karen:
We left pretty soon after that so we could get our little monkey in bed. What a wonderful day. Thanks to Karen and Emmett for their presents and for dinner. This was the first time we celebrated Christmas with them before their trip and both Greg and I remarked about how much we liked it. Maybe it will be our new family tradition.
