On Saturday, we went to Greg’s dad and stepmom’s house for the afternoon and watch the Syracuse basketball game. I have to admit, I’m really not that into sports, but this season I’ve found myself getting more and more into the whole Syracuse fever. Go Jim Boeheim (whose wife, by the way, shared a hospital room with my mom when they both had babies years and years ago). Go 20-0. All that kind of stuff. So I was sort of looking forward to the game that afternoon.
Turns out, Syracuse was kind of destined to suck and they lost. It was a close game, but jeez Louise, they just couldn’t get their act together, which was disappointing. It’s definitely more fun to watch a Syracuse game when they win (which, I know, is the same for every team). But I was watching the game with some REAL fans–Greg’s dad and stepmom have seats in the dome and Greg likes to watch the games.
And then there’s Zoey:
Because, OMG, the cuteness. I mean, seriously. Look at her:
Yes, those are pigtails. I had to keep her locked between my knees while I struggled to put them in. Sure, they’re not straight by any means, but YOU TRY PUTTING THEM IN A SQUIRMING TODDLER’S HAIR OMG.
The best part of the shirt, though, is the back:
Zoey, of course, cared little for the actual game and was much more interested in the raisins that Grandma Emmett gave her:
At dinner, Zoey was very excited to put potatoes in her hair and eat ice cream with Grammy Karen for dessert:
But her favorite part of the day was when she got to play with all of Grandpa Emmett and Grammy Karen’s remotes while the grown-ups watched the basketball game:
Needless to say, she was exhausted by the time we got home that night. But that was okay because I’d be exhausted too if my mom had spent the afternoon and evening taking a billion pictures of me looking adorable in a new t-shirt.
